My workday begins with a cup of coffee and a visit to my workshop, where I spend hours designing and carving stunning pieces of art from Irish bog oak. As I work, I'm constantly inspired by the unique beauty and history of the wood, which has been preserved for thousands of years in the bogs of Ireland.
I start by carefully selecting the perfect piece of bog oak for each project, taking into account its size, shape, and grain pattern. Then, using traditional carving tools and techniques, I begin to bring my designs to life. With each cut, I'm reminded of the rich cultural and historical significance of the wood, and I strive to create pieces that honor that legacy while also showcasing its timeless beauty.
