A beautiful combination of ancient Irish bog oak and vibrant blue howlite, these handmade drop earrings bring together the deep, natural character of Irish wood with a striking touch of colour.

The central bog oak beads have been individually shaped and finished by me. Bog oak is ancient wood that has been naturally preserved beneath the Irish boglands for thousands of years, where time and the unique conditions of the bog gradually transform the wood and deepen its rich, dark tones. Its natural grain and history mean that every piece has its own individual character.

The bog oak is paired with blue howlite beads. Howlite is naturally a pale stone and is often dyed to achieve this beautiful turquoise-blue colour. Blue howlite is traditionally associated with calm, patience, emotional balance and a peaceful state of mind. These associations are symbolic rather than scientifically proven.

The vivid blue of the howlite creates a beautiful contrast with the deep tones of ancient Irish bog oak, giving the earrings a distinctive look that combines natural materials with contemporary colour.

Finished with stainless steel hooks and fittings, the earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
